BRITISH LIBRARY ACQUIRES ARCHIVE OF DAME JOAN BAKEWELL

We are pleased to announce that we acted as agents for the sale of Dame Joan’s papers to the British Library.

Joan Bakewell is one of the most important cultural figures of the post-War years. A journalist, broadcaster, writer and eminent member of the great and the good, her papers give a comprehensive account of her life from the earliest days, and contain fascinating family papers, diaries, correspondence and manuscripts of her own work. In addition there is significant material documenting her long relationship with Harold Pinter.
